The KIT Gripper
The KIT-Gripper is a multifunctional robotics gripper for the disassembly of electromechanical devices. Based on the concept for a multifunctional gripper, the KIT Swiss Knife Gripper, it is capable of the execution of highly precise bimanual manipulation actions like in-hand manipulation, unscrewing or levering needed for disassembly tasks. The kinematic structure of the gripper allows the execution of these tasks with one single robot arm and tool exchange to address the variety of different tools in rapid succession. The Gripper combines a classical parallel gripper for grasping the object to disassemble, and a tool-equipped robotic arm. A pneumatic sucking device further allows the lifting and repositioning of the grasped electromechanical device within the gripper.
